Glossary term
CBN: CBN, or cannabinol, is another minor cannabinoid often discussed in consumer and specialist cannabis spaces. It may appear on detailed potency reports or product specifications.
Why this term matters
Patients may see it and assume it is a major active ingredient in every product.
UK medical cannabis context
More common in COAs and commercial language than in formal NHS guidance.
What not to assume
It should not be treated as a stand-alone promise of sleep or sedation benefit based on marketing alone.
Careful wording: Avoid slogan-like claims such as “CBN equals sleep”.
