Why this term matters

Many new patients know only the community term “flower”, so a neutral medical definition reduces confusion.

UK medical cannabis context

UK patients may encounter flower in private prescribing contexts; NHS public guidance remains much narrower overall.

What not to assume

“Flower” describes a dosage form, not a recommendation to smoke it. Route and device advice still matter.

Careful wording: Avoid writing “bud” or other recreational shorthand without explanation.
